The beauty with audio books is that you have more than one option for listening to them.

For those of us who like to be given lots of options for doing certain things instead of being forced to adapt to just one choice, you definitely have lots of options for listening to your audio book.

If you are someone who likes listening while seated on your favorite couch or seated on your desk, listening to your audio book on your cassette tape player (if the audio book is in audiocassette format, of course) is the option for you.

But if you have a desktop or laptop computer, you might prefer listening to your audio book from here.

Most PCs have Digital Audio Players for playing audio books. If your PC doesn’t have any (very unlikely), you can still download them completely free on the Internet. The 2 best digital audio players that you can download free from the Internet include:

RealOne Player: It can be downloaded from their website:-
http://www.Real.com

Windows Media Player: It can also be downloaded from their website:-
http://www.Microsoft.com

But if you would rather listen to your audio book while doing your household chores, dancing, exercising, jogging, commuting to and from work, etc, then you would need portable audio playback devices that you can carry around and listen to, preferably with earphones.

With the ever expanding market of portable audio playback devices, it goes to show that more and more people are now using them, because of the wonderful benefits they provide.

The most common form of these portable audio playback devices are the normal audio CD players or CD-ROM devices. You can carry these around with you while you do your household chores, exercise, jog or commute to and from work.

The more advanced form of these portable audio playback devices for playing audio books, especially those for listening to downloadable audio books, include:

– Audio-ready PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants). Some of these PDAs include Casio CASSIOPEIA and Compaq iPAQ. Both can be pretty expensive, costing as much as about $500 for the Compaq iPAQ and about $400 for the Casio CASSIOPEIA.

– Compatible Portable Audio Players. Some of these include the Creative’s NOMAD Jukebox 3 and the SONICblue’s Rio 900. These are cheaper than PDAs. For example, you can get the SONICblue’s Rio 900 for about $250 from sites such as Sonicblue.com

Finally, like I said at the start of this article, whatever tool you decide to use in listening to your audio books will depend largely on “how” you prefer listening to your audio books.

For example, for the “young and restless” teenagers they can’t do without the PDAs. I bet you wouldn’t too if you were their age, right? But for the “aged and rusty” who just prefer the ease of being seated on their favorite couch, nothing can be better than listening to their favorite audio books from their “good old” cassette tape player!

This Movie is a Real Heart Stopper, So Grab Your Defibrillator!

May 8th, 2008

At first glance you see the name Robert England and there is a glimmer of hope! This movie does make your heart beat, but will you go flat line? Will you need a sexy young nurse to resuscitate you? If your a horror movie enthusiast, grab your cell phone and tell some friends to come over! Make sure they bring their straight jackets!

Yes! Many will call this a cheesy horror movie flick! One thing you should know before you start flogging tomatoes at your tv screen, is that you get to see Robert England! There have been rumors of a Freddy Krueger come back, but it has not surfaced to the big screen. When the Freddy Krueger movies came out, I was just a teen, and the first one scared the abyss out of me!

The filming in this movie was well done, and the acting was average, but if you like a lot of blood, the movie does deliver. The tag line for the movie is: Each beat may be your last… In the movie’s defense, I will say it is better than most of the direct to dvd videos on the market. It is hard to have your expectations met easily, with a B flick! I was just happy to see Robert England, since he is a horror movie icon from my teenage years! Freddy Krueger did leave a nice deep gashing wound on our gray matter with his razor sharp blades!

I have to agree with other comments online, that the plot is hurting and bleeding from the heart! Again, the movie is worth it just to see Robert England! Anything with him in it will be a collectible! Good or Bad! The movie just keeps moving at a fast pace in most sequences, and the girl who plays the main character is attractive. Sara Wexler(Meredith Henderson) plays a teenager who was not going to make it through high school. Incidentally, Meredith Henderson is from Canada and I have noticed some very hot women, starring in horror movies from Canada!

The pressure of her classmates calling her names, nearly lead to a successful suicide attempt, which opened the doors for Mr. Satanic Serial-Killer(James Binkley) to choose his sexy young victim. What he called his vessel, because his body needed a new one fast! I cannot help it! I have to see at least one hot girl in a horror movie, because it actually helps me make it through the boring parts, to the next scene!

Not to bring you back to any bad memories, but I am sure your reading this, and can recall some horrific teen experience. Maybe a bad relationship, demanding teacher, over protective parent, friends getting killed in an accident, and remember riding your bike while a rabid dog is chasing you! I can see the foam building around the lips of the demon dog now! Hence, the one good point of this heart stopping horror flick, is those lovely, unforgettable teenage years! My dad always said if you live through your teenage years, your lucky!

Chambers (James Binkley) plays a good psychopath role and he reminds me of a sick and twisted Vin Diesel, recovering from rehab. He does present a powerful masculine deep voice and is voracious with his killing spree. When you watch this movie, you will notice he does a good job for a B movie. This is the first movie, where I have seen so many bloody hearts, that I lost count! If you love seeing someone with a cool tattoo, strong muscular build, stick his hand like a spear, into a persons chest and rip out a fresh pumping, blood spurting heart, then you have a winner! This movie really does get to the heart of the matter.

Does this movie have its finger on the kill switch? I will let you be the judge of that! I know there is some soul out there, lurking in the deep shadows of the night, waiting, yes, waiting for the ultimate horror movie, the one that will touch you as Freddy Krueger first did and leave you in the tender arms of Michael Myers of Halloween. In the mean time, we take them as they come. I had a mortician once tell me, that there is a lot of stiff competition out there! The horror directors need to stand up, take Viagra and rise to the occasion for a plot, that kills us!

Smallville (Season 2) DVD Review

May 7th, 2008

Leaping onto the television landscape in Fall 2001, Smallville follows the exploits of a young Clark Kent in the years leading up to his emergence as the beloved Superman. Following a slew of TV renditions of the character’s life since the comic book first appeared, Smallville sets itself apart by focusing on the lesser discussed niche of Clark’s earliest developmental days. Superb casting and consistent writing have combined to make Smallville one of the more popular shows on television (especially in international markets), making the show one of the WB network’s most successful creations to date…

Tom Welling stars in the imminent role of teenager Clark Kent, a refugee from the dying planet of Krypton. His ship having landed in the rural American town of Smallville, Clark is raised by locals Martha (Annette O’Toole) and Jonathan Kent (John Schneider - of Dukes of Hazzard fame) as their own son. Unlike some of the film and TV spin-offs, Smallville attributes powers to other individuals in the area as a result of some of the debris associated with Krypton’s destruction. As a result, Clark is forced to keep his own powers a secret while battling against other individuals who are more powerful than traditional human criminal elements. The show also provides a glimpse into the early friendship experienced between Clark and Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) as well as Clark’s romance with two high school classmates, Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack) and Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk). Part sci-fi fantasy and part teenage soap, Smallville is an instant television classic…

The Smallville (Season 2) DVD offers a number of exciting episodes including the season premiere “Vortex” in which Clark rescues Lana from certain death while Jonathan is buried alive with a obnoxious journalist (who’s uncovered the story of Clark’s secret powers). Meanwhile, Lex Luthor struggles with his own personal guilt while at the bedside of his critically injured father… Other notable episodes from Season 2 include “Red” in which Clark first comes into contact with the dreaded “red kryptonite,” prompting a change in his personality and demeanor, and “Rush” in which the entire student body of Clark’s high school becomes infected with a “bug” that causes them to participate in outrageously dangerous behavior…

Fly like a bird, and be free my friend-

One of the most special things about being an actor is expression, and there is a place for every actor, old or new, to express themselves. It is a garden to roam in a playground, plentiful in the film industry and found in every city.

Now hold on, don’t be asking what Sacreeta is smoking.

For one thing, Sacreeta doesn’t smoke; but she does play in this playground, and I implore you to go out and discover your own. After this message we’ll find out where.

*** Quick Break ***

Want to take your acting to the next level? Want to know how the industry really works? Check out The Science of Acting: The Kamitic Guide To Breakthrough Acting Techniques ==> http://www.kamiticartssystem.com/scienceofacting.htm

***Thanks for listening***

We’re back, and now for the answer. You’ll find your playground among the independent, low-budget and student filmmakers, with their auditions, sets and films.

And that’s the truth of it. Of course it’s not all fun. It’s demanding, hard work, often full of growing pains. But that’s exactly the point. It’s one of the best places to grow, and also an excellent place to practice the techniques taught in the Kamitic Acting System.

Independent filmmakers — what comes to mind when one hears that is what makes me feel bad for those guys. Most are fresh from college, or were interns, have no backing, are pressed for time, cut down scripts to fit the criteria. There are sacrifices and compromises made. They aren’t always happy with that, but they make the best of it.

What if new actors had empathy for IFM? What if they crafted their audition/acting talents toward making life easier for these guys/gals? What if you, as a real actor, walked into the audition with sincere compliments on the script handed to you?

It has been proven that directors do consider/respect those who consider them first, and understand that they too, have a dilemma. They must produce a screenplay of value that can be shot with proficiency, while being believable and persuasive, within the boundaries of the filmmakers’ budget.

Instead of actors considering this an encumbrance, spot-on actors would take up the challenge, and act within the boundaries of what’s available with contentment. Working in these conditions forces the actor to â?¦ well â?¦ ACT. The emphasis is no longer on what the film can afford, it shifts to what the actor can do. Spot-on actors, willing to work with little to no pay, are hard to come by, and it’s understood.

The IFM know the competency of the actors is what will give the picture its credibility, and the actors should be aware that the experience can do nothing but enhance their own career goals.

My response would be, “What an interesting concept,” and I’ll tell you exactly why.

First and foremost: Unknown today=Famous tomorrow.

Sacreeta, everyone has to start somewhere, actors, directors, writers, filmmakers and on and on. Being kind to everyone who crosses your path in the business is not only proper etiquette, it is smart business. It involves understanding what’s going on around you, reading up on the latest trends, keeping up with the direction on what’s pleasing the crowds (and it is a matter of public opinion who becomes famous-no matter what the critics tell you.) Keeping abreast is as important as knowing the difference between hair spray and shampoo.

Ok. Let’s shift back to freedom for the actors, with a few basic considerations.

A good low-budget filmmaker most likely would look for actors who are capable of inspiring and filling in the gaps of a character more than they would in a big-budget production. The actor may be chosen because of a spark of personality that strikes everyone upon their grand entrance to the casting session. The writers of low-budget films concentrate more on the development of the storyline. The direction in which the story takes the character can be influenced by the actors themselves.

Having a strong character that is able to take the audience through the story is vital, and landing a role where you have the luxury of such artistic freedom is an excellent way for the actor to grow.

The writers usually create the script with a particular mold in mind, such as gruff exterior, soft soulful eyes and a charming, no-fuss attitude. In walks Johnny, his eyes are dark and mysterious, not the soft soulful look, but his raspy voice and devious grin are irresistibly charming, inspiring the entire crew. They can foresee sequels, and in turn rewrite the script to suit the actor.

Room for change, room for freedom of expression, enhancing your resume, networking - these are certainly benefits to the actors for being in an independent film.

A few extra things to think about:

The director and crew may be a little wet behind the ears. Have as much patience with them as you would appreciate them having with you.

Don’t be afraid to question them if you are confused about your character’s actions. If the director and scriptwriter are in agreement, then it will be a quick, smooth resolution.

Politely and amicably suggest things that may sum up the scene with a different perspective that you feel strongly about, which could be helpful. But keep it neat. Abrupt criticism could simply have you taken off the set.

Study the script. Get a good impression of the plot, the conflict, the climax-and break down the script as you would with a big-budget film.

And finally: There really is no difference when it comes to putting your best performance into your work. Take pride in every acting project you take on â?¦ make it your own â?¦ and you’ll do great.

See ya next time

History Of Caddies

May 4th, 2008

Most golfers pull or drive a golf cart to help them travel comfortably from hole to hole. But before there were golf carts, there were golf caddies to carry the clubs, rake sand traps and offer the occasional bit of quiet advice. These days, it seems you can only spot caddies on the most prestigious courses, or on the big screen. Caddies are a dying breed, but the history of caddies is a colourful one.

Perhaps the most famous caddy of them all, William Gunn, a.k.a. Caddie Willie, is said to have labored most of his adult life at the illustrious St. Andrews course in Scotland. Tales have been told of the infamous caddie shack, where the most horribly unmentionable acts were allegedly carried out, away from the sight of club members. The hilarious film “Caddy Shack” forever changed the way we felt about gophers, groundskeepers, and country club members.

The history of caddies is up for debate, with no one really sure how the tradition began. The most mythic explanation is that early caddies were true students of the game, and far more talented than the players for whom they toiled. The caddie worked the course to gain a better understanding of how to beat it. This theory was proven at the 1913 U. S. Open when former American caddy Francis Oimet defeated Harry Vardon and Ted Ray, two of the leading British golf pros.

Golf carts were introduced in the 1940s and caddies have become, well.. history. Most modern golf and country clubs own a stable of gas-powered or electric carts to give members the quickest and most convenient way to zip around a course. If a player chooses to walk, he or she can tow a pull cart or simply carry the golf bag. Caddies have become too expensive for most players to afford, so it’s difficult for golf and country clubs to justify employing them.

The history of caddies was relatively short-lived. The tradition is gone, and golfers are left to choose their own clubs, rake their own sand traps, and tackle the tough shots without that bit of inside advice.

Troubles Caused by Inflammation Resolved with New Weight Loss Program

May 4th, 2008

How can you, in a week or less, get dramatic relief from terrible symptoms you thought you had to live with the rest of your life? There’s a fundamental hidden culprit that’s linked to everything from obesity to all the chronic diseases of aging. Addressing this issue that makes us sick and overweight can help create long-term health, vitality, and weight loss.

I’ll give you the key to solving this problem and unlocking good health. I’m talking about inflammation.

You’re probably familiar with the pain, swelling, redness, and heat that classically signify inflammation. It’s something just about every one out there has experienced. Inflammation is part of the body’s natural defense system. When your body senses foreign invaders, your white blood cells and some special chemicals called cytokines mobilize to protect you. This normal type of inflammation is a good thing. It helps your body protect and heal itself. However, when your immune system shifts out of balance, inflammation can run rampant — causing a chronic, smoldering fire inside your body that contributes to disease and weight gain.

The UltraSimple Diet plan effectively tackles inflammation head on. This one week kick-start brings improved health and rapid weight loss. Poor health and disease is caused by poor food choices — including consuming sugar and bad fats — hidden food allergens, lack of exercise, and chronic stress. These actions trigger raging, unseen inflammation deep in the cells and tissues. Inflammation can lead to the chronic diseases of aging - heart disease, cancer, diabetes, dementia, and more. And of course, weight gain. Being fat is being inflamed — period!

It’s simple. If you don’t address inflammation by eliminating hidden food allergens or sensitivities and by eating an anti-inflammatory diet, you will never succeed at effective and permanent weight loss.

When most people think of food allergies, they usually imagine someone eating a peanut and ending up in the emergency room with a swollen tongue, hives, and not being able to breathe. But there is a different type of reaction to foods that is much less dramatic and deadly — but still very troublesome. It is called a delayed allergy. This reaction is much more common and creates a lot of suffering for millions of people.

This type of delayed allergic reaction can cause symptoms anywhere from a few hours to a few days after ingestion. It also causes a wide range of problems like weight gain, fluid retention, fatigue, brain fog, irritable bowel syndrome, mood problems, headaches, sinus and nasal congestion, joint pains, acne, eczema, and more. If you hear someone say dismissively, “Oh, you just lost water weight,” they’re right (at first), because eating foods you are allergic to causes inflammation, which leads to swelling and fluid retention. Getting rid of this fluid by reducing inflammation is a GOOD thing. It is what will allow your body to start the healing process so you can achieve permanent weight loss and optimal health.

Consuming a low-allergy diet for just one week will help you eliminate the excess swelling and fluid that accumulates in your tissues from food-induced chronic inflammation. Despite criticisms you may have heard about losing ONLY water weight, this is essential for you body to begin to heal and detoxify. And the side effect is that you lose significant weight — quickly and safely.

In my practice, treating food allergies and improving nutrition in general is the single most powerful tool I have to treat, reverse, and even cure hundreds of diseases. These include allergies, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, fatigue, sinus problems, hormonal disorders, obesity, high blood pressure, cholesterol, digestive diseases like irritable bowel syndrome, reflux, and colitis, and even mood disorders like depression and anxiety — just to name a few.

You see, we are seeing an epidemic of inflammatory diseases. In fact nearly every modern disease — everything from autoimmune diseases, heart disease, and cancer to obesity, diabetes, and dementia — is caused by inflammation!

While everyone is different, there are some foods that irritate the immune system more than others. They are gluten (wheat, barley, rye, oats, spelt, kamut), dairy (milk, cheese, butter, yogurt), corn, eggs, soy, nuts, nightshades (tomatoes, bell peppers, potatoes, eggplant), citrus, and yeast products.

This program is based on a simple elimination diet, cutting out allergic foods. If you suffer from inflammation and the illness and extra weight that it brings, try The UltraSimple Diet and you should find remarkable relief in the first week from life-long ailments and discover a simple detox diet that causes permanent weight loss as well as healing illness and disease.

Here’s to your good health!

The UltraSimple Diet is available in a $7.99 paperback that includes simple, detailed plans for each day of the week, including shopping and task lists. A free sneak preview of the book is available for download at http://www.ultrasimplediet.com.

Mark Hyman, MD, author of “The UltraSimple Diet — Kick-start Your Metabolism and Safely Lose up to 10 Pounds in 7 Days”, shows you how to reprogram your body to burn fat by turning on the message of weight loss and health and turning off the messages of weight gain and disease. Is A Picture Worth A Thousand Words?

May 3rd, 2008

Are you an eBay seller? If you are, you likely already know the importance of having pictures in your eBay listings. There are a many eBay buyers who will not buy an item on eBay if they haven’t seen a picture. In fact, many eBay buyers like to see more than one picture. The only problem with this is that posting a number of pictures on eBay can get expensive, especially overtime. However, there is a way that you can give your potential customers what they want, more pictures, without having to go broke while doing so.

There are really two ways you can do this. First is if you have your own web site on a hosted domain you can FTP your files to your web site and host them there. After all, you are already paying for the hosting service. The second is to use a 3rd party service to host your images. Just do an internet search and you will find plenty of image hosting sites. You should be able to get by with about 30mb of disk space.

Hosting on your own web site would be a simple matter of creating a folder, for example, auctions, and copy your images up to that folder. For now lets talk about 3rd party services. If you are looking for a way to have multiple pictures appear in your eBay auction listings, but you are urged to examine websites that are known as photo sharing sites, if you haven’t already done so. Photo sharing websites are sites that allow you to post digital photographs online and sometimes even videos. There are a large number of internet users who use photo sharing sites to upload and share pictures with friends and family members over the internet, but many internet users are also starting to use photo sharing websites to help combat their eBay seller fees, particularly the fees associated with having multiple pictures in an eBay auction.

All you will need to do is to create an account with the service. You should be required to fill out a small form, which may request a little bit of information about yourself, like your full name or your email address. You will also need to create login information for yourself, including a screen name and a safe password. Once you have that finished, you should be able to use the photo sharing website in question, whether it be PhotoBucket or not, to help you start saving money.

When using a photo sharing site, you will see that different sites have different instructions that need to be followed, but the first step will be taking pictures of your eBay items. Then you will need to upload them to your computer and then follow the photo sharing website’s instructions on how to upload your photos to their site. In most cases, this is a relatively simple process, which tends to involve selecting a few pictures from your computer’s hard drive and then hitting an upload button.

Once your pictures have been uploaded, you should see thumbnails or smaller versions of them. With PhotoBucket there are little boxes underneath each thumbnail that can be used to select the picture or pictures of you choice. You will want to select all of the pictures that you want listed in a particular eBay listing. Then, you should be able to find a link that allows you to generate an HTML code. This will lead you to another page with a lot of information on it, particularly HTML links. Many photo sharing websites outright tell you which HTML code links you should use for eBay. Copy the code and paste it in the description of your eBay auction listings and you are good to go; your pictures should appear.

Using a photo sharing site is optional, but it is definitely something to look into. As an eBay seller, you want to profit as much as you can and this also involves eliminating unnecessary expenses.

Want an easy way to update your customers with your company news, then adopting an email newsletter or e-Newsletter on a regular schedule can not only keep them informed it may even generate more business.

An e-newsletter combines the benefits of company information and marketing opportunities with little cost to compose and savings realised by using email technology rather tan traditional postal means.

Some things you need to consider when preparing your e-Newsletter;

? Frequency - Make a plan to publish your newsletter on a regular basis

? Content - Keep the content focused on the audience, don’t try and oversell any product or service as these emails tend to get deleted very quickly.

? Size - Try to keep the newsletter to 3 - 4 bullet points, in short attention grabbing sentences that lead to full stories on your website.

? Bandwidth - Try not to over indulge your newsletter with too many graphics, keep in mind many users still have low speed internet connections and large image sizes will have an impact on downloading. Try to keep your newsletter to under 60Kb

In this article I will show you the easy way to create a newsletter based on tables in Microsoft Word ready for importing into your email program for distribution.

Step 1: Open a blank word document and insert a table with 3 columns and 6 rows. I recommend merging the top 3 cells and the bottom 3 cells into header and footer rows so you can easily add the company logo on the header row and your address details on the footer row.

Step 2: Merge the left side rows of the remaining rows into 1 column.

Leaving On A Jet Plane? Business Etiquette To Go

April 29th, 2008

Business travel is often a necessity whether you work for a Fortune 500 company or own a small home based business. Only so much business can be conducted by telephone, e-mail, computer and fax. There will come a day when you need to travel for business and how you conduct yourself will make all the difference in determining your success in getting that new client or sealing the deal.

Always remember that you are representing your company during your entire journey, starting and ending with your trip to and from the airport. Be considerate to airline personnel, hotel porters, restaurant employees and anyone else you meet on your trip. You never know when someone you meet may be related to the CEO of your client company or when someone you treat badly makes a formal complaint to your employer. Stay on your best behavior when you are traveling and you will build relationships that can impact the bottom line. As a bonus you will enjoy your trip a lot more when you treat others with courtesy and kindness.

After your travel reservations are made do some research. Start by studying the customs and culture of your destination if you are visiting a foreign country or by reading an online newspaper from the US city where you will be staying. Use the internet to select a restaurant for wining and dining your client, and make reservations ahead of time. Refresh your memory on the basics of introductions, table manners and gift giving before you leave home.

If you are traveling with someone else, ask that you be seated next to your business associates on the airplane. Sitting together will ensure you keep your conversations confidential and other passengers will appreciate not having to listen to you talk across an aisle or over the seat. Avoid alcohol on the airplane and during your entire trip. Traveling is not an excuse to indulge in alcoholic beverages and your boss will not appreciate being billed for your overindulgence or hearing about your wild antics on the plane.

Prior to traveling familiarize yourself with the gift giving etiquette of the company you are visiting. Be aware that many corporations and government offices have strict rules about accepting gifts. Call the company receptionist or the secretary of the person you will meet with on your trip to inquire about the company guidelines and ask for suggestions if a gift is appropriate.

Use technology sparingly in order to show respect for those around you. Make use of earphones with your laptop or hand held gadgets. Turn your cell phone off while flying and when attending a meeting. If you do have to take a call, let others know ahead of time and leave the meeting when the call comes in.

Be punctual for all of your meetings and dress professionally. Leave your casual clothes for evenings and weekends when you won’t be spending time with your client. Plan on keeping yourself occupied on off hours and do not expect your client to entertain you. If you are invited to a casual meal or other activity on off hours, feel free to accept but pay attention to your attire. Even if your host suggests that you dress casually, keep in mind that you are still doing business and make sure you keep the “business” in “business casual.”

Refrain from discussing inappropriate issues while traveling such as religion, politics and your latest surgery. Respond respectfully when asked your opinion on sticky subjects then move on quickly to another topic. If anyone, including a client, begins to bash Americans, do not take offense. Tell them you understand how they might feel that way and change the subject. Client meetings are no place to advance your personal causes or opinions.

When you return to your office, send a handwritten thank you note immediately. Let your client know how much you appreciate their hospitality and how much you enjoyed your trip. A handwritten note is much more personal than a hastily sent e-mail.

Paying careful attention to your business etiquette while traveling may help you achieve that promotion you have wanted, seal that deal you have been working on for months or enhance the otherwise lukewarm client relationship. You may not have control over your travel schedule, where your luggage ends up or the clients you need to meet, but you do have total control of your own behavior and your personal attitude By minding your business manners your trip will be pleasant, productive and profitable.

One of the greatest television comedies in history, Cheers is an absolute “must see” for anyone who’s ever had a regular hangout “where everybody knows your name”. The shows centers itself around the friendly neighborhood Boston bar named Cheers. The bar is owned by former Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Sam Malone (Ted Danson). Sam has three employees - bartender Ernie “Coach” Pantusso (Nicholas Colasanto) and waitresses Carla Tortelli (Rhea Pearlman) and Diane Chambers (Shelley Long). Regular barflies Norm Peterson (George Wendt) and Cliff Clavin (John Ratzenberger) round out a strong supporting cast.

The Cheers (Season 2) DVD offers a number of hilarious episodes and ignites Sam and Diane’s long-lasting, on-again/off-again romance. This is also the first season in which Cliff Clavin is an “opening-credits” member of the cast (even though he appeared in most of season one’s episodes). Guest appearances by Fred Dryer (of Hunter fame), Dick Cavett, Harry Anderson (of Night Court fame), and Christopher Lloyd (of Taxi and Back To The Future fame) make for some memorable comic sequences. The season ends with Sam and Diane’s romance on shaky ground…
